Charangos

Charangos

The making of a musical instrument is both and art and a craft and seems sort of "magical" to any musician. It embodies the transformation of wood, cane, skin, etc., from rough material into a finished object that one can blow, beat or strum in order to play music.

The Picasa web album titled "Nuevo jatun charango laukeado" by user Norberto de León, shows step-by-step charango making from a piece of sycamore wood.
