Pífanos and chirimías

Since the number of albums by transverse flute groups in Andean America is relatively small, and is mostly limited to the northern half of the mountain range, the works listed below includes some of the most outstanding works released since the turn of the new millennium.

VV.AA. - De correrías y alumbranzas: Flautas campesinas del Cauca andino | Chirimía del río Napi - El pajarillo | VV.AA. - ¡Así Kotama! The flutes of Otavalo, Ecuador

In 2012, the Corporación Cultural Sonidos Enraizados visited the communities along the river Napi to make the first recording of their music, which can now be heard on this album "El pajarillo".
